Lawrence E. Jones Middle School Programs
Lawrence E. Jones Middle School is committed to helping every student maximize his or her academic potential.
By providing opportunities for students to receive a learning experience tailored to their abilities, Lawrence E. Jones Middle School helps instill confidence and a love of learning at an early age.
We offer a number of specialists and enrichment programs to help each student achieve to his or her highest potential:
- Two resource specialists and one speech therapist for students with specific learning needs
- Three SDC teachers who teach students who have special education support more than 51% of their day
- A math intervention class is offered for students who are not yet performing at grade level
- A Reading class is offered for students who are not yet reading at grade level.
- Homework Lunch which supports student who are falling behind with assignments
- A rich enrichment program that offers students a wide variety of classes such a art, tech arts, Home Arts, Leadership, drama, foreign language, etc.
- English Language Development classes for second language learners
- GATE clusters in academic classes to insure that identified GATE students are provided with a challenging and inspiring academic curriculum
