Pledge-a-thon (PAT)
Fundraising allows Lawrence E. Jones Middle School to provide more opportunities for our students. Through fundraising events and rewards programs like eScrip and Box Tops for Education, it’s now easier than ever to make a difference in our school community. Every little bit counts.
The PTSO sponsors one major fundraiser a year, the annual Pledge-a-thon or PAT. Students earn money by mowing lawns, washing cars, babysitting, and other chores that need to be done for family members , friends, and/or neighbors. Any student who turns in at least $40 gets to come to the Pledge-a-thon party, a major celebration with games, music, food, and other activities. In addition, each student who turn in $50 receives a Blue Prize Ticket and a chance to participate in a drawing for great prizes. Each student who turn in $60 receives a Gold Prize Ticket and a chance to participate in a drawing for an Apple iPAD.
Here is the breakdown:
$40 - gets you into the PAT party
$50 - gets you into the PAT party and 1 Blue Prize Ticket for drawing
$60 - gets you into the PAT party and 1 Blue Prize Ticket and 1 Gold Prize Ticket for iPad drawing
Students can earn an additional Blue Prize Ticket at each $25 interval after the initial $50:
For example:
$50 = 1 blue ticket
$75 = 2 blue tickets
$100 = 3 blue tickets, etc.
Students can earn an additional Gold Prize Ticket at each $50 interval after the initial $60:
For example:
$60 = 1 gold ticket
$110 = 2 gold tickets
$160 = 3 gold tickets, etc
PAT T-shirts are $5. This money is separate from PAT party money and does NOT count as money raised for the PAT party or prize tickets.
$40,000 was raised during the 2009 Pledge-a-thon, enabling the PTSO to fund many valuable school projects supporting our students and teachers.
